# Chapter 30: Lord, lead me into the future you have for me | The Power of a Praying Woman

This is the last chapter of the book. Stormie Omartian has written it as though it’s a personal letter to the reader. I hope all of us have been transformed by this book. It has truly been a blessing in my life. I have been challenged to be a prayerful woman and have been shown the benefits there are in being close to God, whatever the situation.

She says, “Remember, my precious sister in the Lord, that walking with God doesn’t mean there won’t be obstacles. Satan will see to it that there are. While God has a plan for your future that is good, the devil has one too and it’s not good. But the devil’s plan for your life cannot succeed as long as you are walking with God, living in obedience to His ways, worshiping only Him, standing strong in His word, and praying without ceasing. God’s plan for your life won’t happen without a struggle, however, so don’t give up when times get tough. Just keep on doing what’s right and resist the temptation to quit. Ask God to give you the strength and endurance you need to do what you have to do.

Romans 8:38-39
I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen! Amen! Amen!

# Chapter 29: Lord, lift me out of my past | The Power of a Praying Woman

“Imagine that you are running a race, and you’re trying to reach the goal and ultimately win the prize. But as hard as you try you can never get to the finish line because there is a heavy weight tied around one of your legs. You struggle to pull it along, but it slows you down, and makes you be so weary and exhausted that you are tempted to give up altogether. It doesn’t occur to you that this is something you don’t have to carry.
It has been so much a part of you for so long that you never imagined life without it. Yet you can’t finish the race and secure the prize God has for you until you become free of it.

Isaiah 43:18-19
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

One of the great mysteries of the Lord is how He can take the horrible, the tragic, the painful, the devastating, the embarrassing, and the ruinous experiences and memories of our lives and not only heal them, but use them for good.
Once you step out of the past it’s important you don’t keep looking over your shoulder to see if it’s following you.”

2 Corinthians 5:17
If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
